§ Mr. Barry JonesTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales (1) if he will convene a conference of the local education authorities of Wales to discuss with directors of education and chairmen of local education authorities the (i) financial and (ii) professional consequences to the schools service of local management of schools and the national curriculum;
(2) if he will visit each of the local education authorities in Wales to discuss with them the (i) financial and (ii) professional consequences of local management of schools and the national curriculum; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsNo request has been made to my right hon. Friend by local education authorities to meet and discuss the consequences of the implementation of the Education Reform Act 1988. At official level discussions on these issues continue to take place through working groups on which all local education authorities are represented.
§ Mr. Barry JonesTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list in theOfficial Report all Government documents issued to (a) local education authorities and 246W (b) schools as a consequence of the Education Reform Act listing both the number of pages and the cost of the document; and if he will make a statement.
