To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he will make a statement about trade with the People's Republic of China.

In the light of the recent events in China the Government have announced the suspension of ministerial and high level military exchanges and a ban on arms sales. The ECGD is maintaining cover for the China market, but awaiting clarification of the economic position before taking decisions on respect of new businesses.
