HC Deb 19 June 1989 vol 155 c51W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many acres of land are in the ownership of(a) the Yorkshire water authority and (b) the Severn-Trent water authority; and, of these, how many have outline planning permission, and in respect of how many the authority is currently seeking such permission.

Mr. Howard

The Yorkshire water authority owns or has an interest in aproximately 70,000 acres of land. About 90 acres of this land has outline planning permission for development. Applications for outline planning permission for approximately 10 acres of land are currently outstanding. The Severn-Trent water authority owns or has an interest in approximately 44,000 acres of land. About 100 acres have outline planning permission for development. Outline planning permission is being sought for between 50 and 100 acres.
