§ Mr. Chris PattenInformation in respect of individual projects could be provided only at disproportionate cost,274W but in 1978 gross expenditure on aid was £752 million and the number of officials employed in the headquarters of the Overseas Development Administration (as at 1 April) was 1,411. In 1988 the equivalent figures were £1,637 million and 1,196 officials.
