The available information, which may be incomplete, relates to those who failed to appear having been bailed at magistrates' courts or the Crown court and is published annually in "Criminal statistics, England and Wales, 1987" (table 8.12 and paragraph 8.16 of the issue for 1987, Cm. 498).
