HC Deb 07 June 1989 vol 154 c162W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

To ask the Prime Minister whether she will publish in theOfficial Report a table showing which of the proposals put forward by the European Economic Commission in the social field could not be enacted by the British Parliament on its own account.

The Prime Minister

Parliament can enact legislation in all of the areas proposed in the social field. However, in framing any legislation, the Government will of course have regard to our international obligations, including our obligations under Community law.
