To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement about his plans to introduce top-up loans for students.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the representations he has received from Scottish universities regarding his White Paper on student loans.

Mr. Jackson
We have received responses to the While Paper from each of the Scottish universities or their student bodies, and from the Standing Conference of the Universities of Scotland. They are being taken into account, along with all other responses, as we proceed to develop a scheme for the introduction of top-up loans.
