The detailed breakdown of funding requested by the hon. Gentleman is unavailable. However, during the 1984–88 Sprint pilot phase, it is possible to attribute at least 2.3 million ecu to United Kingdom beneficiaries out of Sprint funding of 18.63 million ecu.

Excluding funding of 2.73 million ecu for EC groups and associations (eg EuroTechAlert) the United Kingdom proportion of the Sprint budget amounted to 14.5 per cent.
