§ Mr. RedwoodThe communication submitted by the European Community this week to the GATT negotiating group on textiles and clothing sets out objectives agreed by all EC member states. It stresses in particular the need for parallelism between the gradual integration of textiles and clothing into GATT and the application of strengthened GATT rules and disciplines and examines the general framework within which these two elements need to be organised.
