To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of gross investment, including leasing, in plant and machinery in manufacturing industry in 1988 less capital consumption in terms of 1985 prices; and if he will provide comparable figures for 1964, 1969 and 1974 and 1979 in terms of 1985 prices.
