Mr. Barron

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the outcome of the recent annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ryder

The annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank will take place between 26 and 28 September 1989.

Mr. Allen

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many meetings he has had with the International Monetary Fund since 29 September 1988; whether the United Kingdom's interest rates, inflation rate, level of public investment or trade deficit were discussed; and if he will make a statement.
