To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has had concerning the amendment of sections 1 and 2 of the Food Act 1984; and how many of these have indicated a wish that they remain unaltered.

The Government have received many representations in response to our proposals for re-enacting and updating the powers in sections 1 and 2. There has been general support for what we are proposing.
