To ask the Secretary of State for Health for each of the last five parliamentary Sessions, including the 1988–89 Session, if he will list the number of statutory instruments that were issued by his Department; how many were negative and how many were affirmative; and if he will make a statement.

The information is in the table. For Sessions earlier than 1988–89 the figures are only those statuory instruments issued by the Department of Health and Social Security which relate to health matters.
