To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a further statement on the reform of the Potato Marketing Board.

As my right hon. Friend announced on 20 July, the Government have decided to retain the basic elements of the existing potato marketing scheme in view of the need to maintain stability. However consumers and other non-producer interests should be given greater influence in the Potato Marketing Board's market management decisions.
