HC Deb 27 July 1989 vol 157 cc933-4W
Mr. Hinchliffe

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will give an account of capital resources available to the Yorkshire and Humberside region from the Government for housing purposes for each year from 1979 to 1989;

(2) if he will give an account of capital resources available to Wakefield metropolitan district council, from the Government for housing purposes for each year from 1979 to 1989.

Mr. Chope

The information requested is listed in the table. Since 1981–82 local authorities have been able to supplement their allocations by expenditure financed by capital receipts. Nationally, two thirds of local authorities' spending power on housing in 1989–90 is expected to come from capital receipts.
