To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what plans he has to ensure that the public have adequate food supplies during the dockers' strike; and if he will make a statement.

My Department is monitoring the position closely and maintains regular contact with the food industry.

I am confident that food supplies will not be seriously affected.
