To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will publish in theOfficial Report figures for each year since 1979 showing the net increase in the amounts available for investment of life assurance and pension schemes to the nearest £1 million; and if he will provide a forecast for 1987 and for 1988

Estimates of total net investment by the long-term funds of insurance companies and self administered pension funds (excluding net investment by pension funds in insurance-managed funds) are as follows for the year 1979 to 1988.
