To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what amount of overseas aid is being given to Sri Lanka for 1989.

Mr. Chris Patten

On the assumption that there is no further deterioration in the security situation, we expect to spend around £18 million in 1989.
