§ Mr. Trippier[holding answer 19 July 1989]: The information requested is listed in the table. Since 1981–82 local authorities have been able to supplement their allocations by expenditure financed from capital receipts. Nationally, two thirds of local authorities' spending power on housing in 1989–90 is expected to come from capital receipts.
