HC Deb 21 July 1989 vol 157 c418W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what defence interests are served by the Royal Navy's responsibility for Wootton creek.

Mr. Neubert

The Royal Navy has no specific defence interest in Wootton creek. However, because it lies within the dockyard port of Portsmouth, the Queen's harbour-master retains responsibility for navigational matters there.

Mr. Steinberg

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he has any estimate of the total redevelopment value of(a) operational and (b) non-operational service land in London and south-east England.

Mr. Neubert

No. Sites are valued individually as the need arises.

Mr. Steinberg

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will state the total area of(a) operational and (b) non-operational service land in Great Britain, broken down by standard planning region.
