To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on transport policy.

Mr. Needham

The Government's policy on transport in Northern Ireland is to ensure that effective, safe and convenient transport services are provided to meet the needs of the travelling public. This policy is being pursued by continuing support within the financial resources available for public transport services and by a programme of investment in roads and related infrastructure.
