§ Mr. ButcherIn January 1989 there were some 1,260 pupils aged 19 or over in English maintained secondary schools. The Department projects that the corresponding numbers will be 1,200 in 1989–90 and 1990–91, 1,100 in 1991–92. and 1,000 in 1992–93 and 1993–94.
