§ Mr. Peter LloydThe available information, which is drawn from "Regional Trends", is as follows. In 1975–76, some 10.9 per cent of total household income in the north came from social security benefits. In 1986–87, the corresponding figure was 16.2 per cent. These estimates exclude the contribution made by housing benefit to household incomes.
