§ Mr. AtkinsDuring 1988–89 direct Government support for the United Kingdom film industry amounted to £3.6 million, of which £2 million went to British Screen Finance Ltd. and £1.6 million to the National Film and Television school. In addition the Government provided more general support for training and for the British Film Institute and the Scottish Film Council.
