§ Mr. John MarshallTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations have been made to the Russian authorities about their continued failure to grant exit visas to Ester and Simon Tsirelson of Leningrad who first applied for an exit visa in 1979.
§ Mr. WaldegraveWe have pressed the Soviet authorities about the Tsirelson case on numerous occasions during the past year—most recently at the Paris CSCE human rights conference in June. They now claim that the case is under re-consideration. We shall continue to make representations until the family is allowed to leave.
