§ Mr. CopeThe Commission of the European Communities has confirmed that for 1989 the United Kingdom has been allocated £418 million towards employment and training schemes from the European social fund. This represents 18–14 per cent. of the fund's budget and means that the United Kingdom is once again receiving more than any other Community member state.
