HL Deb 13 July 1989 vol 510 c510WA
Lord Strabolgi

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether consideration was given to possible traffic congestion and parking problems when permission was granted to convert Battersea Power Station into a leisure complex where around 7 million visitors a year are expected.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Hesketh)

Planning permission was given by Wandsworth Borough Council, which considered the traffic and parking implications of the development proposed.
