§ Mr. EggarThe United Kingdom has contributed some £10.7 million since 1982 to the United Nations fund for drug abuse control, which is the main multilateral channel for providing assistance to developing countries in combating drug production. The United Kingdom also spent around £3 million in 1988–89 on bilateral projects. My right hon. Friend the Home Secretary recently announced a series of further measures to combat drug production, trafficking and consumption, including an international conference to be held in the United Kingdom in 1990.
