§ Q97. Mr. Tom ClarkeTo ask the Prime Minister when she expects to meet OXFAM to discuss Britain's aid programme as a percentage of gross national product.
§ The Prime MinisterI have no plans to do so. The Government maintain close contact with non-governmental organisations such as OXFAM. My right hon. Friend the Minister for Overseas Development met OXFAM as recently as 8 June and discussed a variety of aid issues. United Kingdom aid as a proportion of gross national product stood at 0.32 per cent. in 1988—14 per cent. up on the figure for 1987.
