To ask the Secretary of State for Defence when Her Majesty's Government were informed by the Soviet Government of the disabling accident to the nuclear reactor of the Echo-2 class Soviet submarine which occurred on 26 June.

I have been asked to reply.

This accident was of such a minor nature that no notification from the Soviet Government was expected and none was received.
