HC Deb 10 July 1989 vol 156 c381W
Mr. Morley

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy whether his Department has any plans to fund the setting up of a pilot programme of offshore wind generation.

Mr. Michael Spicer

The chairman of the CEGB announced in 1988 the proposal to build an offshore wind turbine generator as part of a joint programme with the Department. Following withdrawal of the prospective industrial partner from wind turbine manufacture, alternatives are now being considered.
