§ Mr. MaddenTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will establish a special fund to assist Chinese students in the United Kingdom who experience financial difficulties as a result of deciding not to return to China; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. RentonChinese nationals who do not qualify under the immigration rules but who do not wish to return to China are being allowed to remain here exceptionally for a further six months. Employment restrictions will be removed in such cases, which will allow those concerned to claim benefit if they are available for employment.
