§ Mr. FearnTo ask the Secretary of State for Health if he has plans to introduce regulations to outlaw the sale of natural, herbal and homeopathic medicines and drugs other than through a pharamaceutical outlet to bring the United Kingdom into line with other EEC countries.
§ Mr. MellorWe have no such plans at present. The European Community is committed to directives on homeopathic medicines and conditions of supply of242W medicines to the public, but specific proposals have not yet been submitted to the Council of Ministers. When EC proposals are published, we shall consider them carefully for compatibility with United Kingdom traditions and communicate with interested parties as to the United Kingdom input to negotiations.
