To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster by how much the volume of consumer goods exported in the first quarter of 1989 grew; and by how much the volume of consumer goods imported changed.

§ Mr. Alan Clark
In the first quarter of 1989 the volume of exports of consumer goods¹ on a seasonal adjusted overseas trade statistics basis increased by 12 per cent. over the previous quarter. On the same basis imports of consumer goods¹ fell by 1 per cent.
