§ Mr. ScottOn the basis of the 1986 family expenditure survey, a little over 300,000 families in receipt of child benefit contained an earner of more than twice average earnings, representing just over a half of all such earners. Information about the incomes of families receiving child benefit is not routinely collected. Estimates are subject to normal sampling and response variation.
