§ 53. Mr. ColvinTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make it his policy to encourage developers to make financial contributions towards school improvements in areas where significant numbers of children of school age have been added to school rolls.
§ Mr. ButcherLocal education authorities are responsible for ensuring that sufficient school places are available in their areas. My right hon. Friend welcomes, in principle, any agreement between an LEA and developer that leads to the private sector investing in improvements in schools.
