§ Mr. FreemanInformation about patients awaiting admission to hospital is collected according to the specialty of intended treatment, not by hospital type. Regional and district summaries of hospital in-patient lists at 31 March 1988, the latest available centrally, have been placed in the Library. Information about the numbers of elderly people seeking placement in residential homes in the local authority voluntary and private sectors is not collected centrally.
