§ Mr. WaldegraveMy right hon. Friend the Minister of State raised Amnesty International's allegations of human rights abuse with the Turkish ambassador on 12 December. We continue to urge the Turkish Government to maintain the recent improvements in human rights, and to live up to internationally accepted standards concerning the treatment of prisoners.
