§ Mr. Michael ForsythMy right hon. and learned Friend accepts that the remuneration of health board chairmen should be amended to reflect more adequately the extent of their responsibilities, particularly in comparison with the chairmen of health authorities in England. He has therefore decided on the following levels of remuneration for chairmen with effect from 1 April 1989.
