§ Mr. JackTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress has been made in producing a statement of the Government's financial accounting and reporting framework following the recommendation made by the Comptroller and Auditor General in paragraphs 4.22 to 4.25 of his report on financial reporting to Parliament in 1986.
§ Mr. BrookeA draft consultative document was produced by the Treasury and issued to accountancy institutes and other interested parties for comment in July 1987. A number of useful suggestions were received and many of these have been incorporated into a revised document which is being published today and of which copies will be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
