The closing date for applications is 31 March 1989 and until all applications are received, and processed, we will not know the final number of successful applicants or how many of them will cease to receive these payments from April 1989.

§ Mr. Peter LloydOf the estimated 1.4 million incol,le support claimants who received a transitional addition at the inception of the scheme in April 1988, some 1.1 million are expected still to be receiving such an addition at the beginning of April 1989.
