HL Deb 25 January 1989 vol 503 c815WA
Lord Jenkins of Putney

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, in view of the recent revelations that there was a proposal within MI5 to destabilise the Labour Government in the 1970s, they will now elaborate on the statement made by the Prime Minister on 6th May 1987 [Official Report, col. 725] and the Answer given to Lord Jenkins of Putney by Earl Ferrers on 8th December 1988 [Official Report, col. 752].

Earl Ferrers

The allegations relating to the Government of the noble Lord, Lord Wilson of Rievaulx, were fully dealt with in a Statement which was made by my right honourable friend the Prime Minister on 6th May 1987 and which was repeated in your Lordships' House on the same day by my noble friend Lord Whitelaw. I have nothing to add to that Statement.
