Mr. JacksonIt is for individual institutions to decide what library and other provision to make from the total funds at their disposal. However, an additional £9 million 383W has been allocated to universities through the University Grants Committee for the period 1987–88 to 1989–90 specifically for the purchase of books and periodicals, together with £2 million provided in 1987–88 and 1988–89 to enable university libraries to link with computer networks to improve access.
