§ Mr. Archie HamiltonThe term "military support carriers" is not a term used within the British Army, but on 1 January 1988 the Army had a total of 5,048 armoured vehicles in service which were not main battle tanks, armoured vehicle bridge layers, armoured infantry fighting vehicles, artillery pieces or air defence launchers.
