§ Mr. Chris PattenAid and trade relations between the European Community and the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries are governed by the Lomé conventions. Negotiations on a successor to the third Lomé convention, which expires in February 1990, were opened formally in October last year. We will be actively involved throughout the renegotiation.
