To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what moneys have been received from the European Community specifically for transport infrastructure investment since 1980; and what projects such moneys have been used to finance.

[holding answer 17 January 1989]: About £930 million is expected to have been received by the Department from the European Community between 1980–81 and 1988–89 to finance transport infrastructure investment, as follows:
