HC Deb 19 January 1989 vol 145 c259W
Mr. Grocott

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what information he has as to how many households have their mortgage interest payments adjusted annually.

Mr. Lilley

Figures released by the Building Societies Association in July 1988 showed that 37 per cent. of borrowers with the largest 14 building societies had their mortgage payments adjusted once a year. No information is available for banks and other mortgage lenders.
