§ 84. Mr. CousinsTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment whether he has any plans to ask the retail prices index advisory committee to undertake a further review of any methodological issues.
§ Mr. LeeThe committee is currently considering the effect of the abolition of domestic rates on the construction of the retail prices index, and a report is expected on this shortly. It will then go on to consider the way in which expenditure on holidays should be taken into account in the index and to review progress on implementing longer-term recommendations made in its last report in 1986.
