§ Mr. MadelTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the total amount of money that his Department is providing in the current financial year on the funding of research into veterinary medicine; to what organisations this money is given; and what sum of money is planned for the financial year 1989–90.
§ Mr. RyderMy Department is planning to spend £10.7 million on veterinary research in 1988–89 and £10.9 million in 1989–90. These figures do not include certain costs for Ministry staff, such as superannuation which is not borne on my Department's Vote.
