Mr. Mallon

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many long-term unemployed there are presently in each of the 26 district council areas in Northern Ireland.

The latest unemployment figures available relate to 10 November 1988. The numbers of claimants in each district council area of Northern Ireland, who had been continuously unemployed for more than one year at that date, are as follows:—
